Wild & Well - Family, Wellness & Home Picks for Every Age of Parenting

AboutWild&Well

Hi, I'm Heather — mom to three kids who are, somehow, at completely different stages of life all at once. A toddler still in diapers. A twelve-year-old navigating middle school lockers and first real friendships. And a twenty-one-year-old who's already out in the world, building a life of her own.

Some days it feels less like parenting one family and more like running three completely different households under one roof. What works for a two-year-old doesn’t touch a tween’s world. What my oldest needs from me now looks nothing like what she needed at twelve, or at two. I’m constantly switching gears — and somewhere in the middle of all that switching, I’m also trying to hold onto the parts of myself that exist outside of “mom.”
We live out in the rural Arizona desert — wide-open sky, red dirt, the kind of quiet that city life doesn’t have. There’s something about raising kids out here, slower-paced and a little off the beaten path, that shapes how we do things. It’s part of why “Wild” felt like the right word for this space, long before it became a brand name.
That’s really where Wild & Well came from. Not a polished parenting philosophy, and definitely not expertise — just a running list of what’s actually worked. The things that got us through a rough sleep season. What survived a backpack. What made a long-distance care package feel like home. And, slowly, what helped me remember to take care of myself too, not just everyone else.
I don’t share my kids’ names or many identifying details here — this space is about the experience of parenting across such different ages at once, not about turning my children into content. Everything I recommend, though, is real: things I’ve actually bought, actually used, and would actually tell a friend about over coffee.
If you’re anywhere in this same stretched-thin, three-directions-at-once season of life — welcome. I’m glad you’re here.
— Heather
